Artisan winegrowers

When Pierre and Jacqueline CHAMAYRAC decided to leave their life in Fleury to settle a few kilometers from the village, on the land of Château Mire l'Etang, they knew they had a major challenge ahead of them. Despite the generally poor state of the property, they had already identified the potential of the vineyard and were going to rebuild it all, through hard work and commitment.

Highly involved in the political and union life of the regional wine industry, Pierre and then his son Philippe were instrumental in securing recognition for the Languedoc AOP and then the La Clape AOP which was elevated to Cru status for its white and red wines in 2015.

As part of their strategy to restructure the vineyard, they decided to clear a 12-hectare block of garrigue on the heights of the estate, on the Bouisset plateau. Here, they planted grape varieties suited to this virgin, very stony terroir, which is perfectly exposed and suited to the production of great Languedoc red wines.
